Our Coatings & Application Process

RENNER 765 2K. SPRAYED, NOT BRUSHED OR ROLLED.

At Tampa Bay Residential Services LLC, we use Renner 765 2K as our cabinet finish coating. Our process includes two sprayed coats of Renner primer followed by two sprayed coats of Renner 765 2K paint.

Two primer coats. Two finish coats. All sprayed.

We don’t brush or roll your cabinet coatings. Every cabinet surface included in your painting estimate is spray-finished—including doors, drawer fronts, frames, and exposed panels.

Our Five-Day Cabinet Painting Process

Our standard projects follow a five-working-day process, with preparation, spray application, and finishing steps planned around your kitchen and the coating system’s requirements.

  1. Protection & Preparation

We protect surrounding areas, remove components as needed, and prepare the cabinet surfaces for the coating system.

  2. Two Sprayed Coats of Renner Primer

We spray two coats of Renner primer, following the selected product’s preparation and application requirements.

  3. Two Sprayed Coats of Renner 765 2K

We spray two coats of Renner 765 2K finish coating for a smooth, consistent appearance across the included cabinet surfaces.

  4. Reassembly & Final Review

After the coating reaches the appropriate handling stage, we reinstall removed components included in the scope, review the work, and explain how to care for your painted cabinets.

Five working days is our standard project schedule, not a promise of full coating cure. Project size, repairs, site conditions, and coating requirements may affect timing. Your estimate will identify the included surfaces and expected schedule.

Cabinet Painting Questions & Answers

Planning a cabinet refresh? Here are answers to common questions about our process, scheduling, kitchen access, and what to expect.

How long will the job take?

We usually complete cabinet painting projects in approximately five working days. Larger kitchens, additional repairs, or changes to the scope may require more time.

We’ll discuss your expected schedule before work begins. Project completion and full coating cure are not necessarily the same, so we’ll also explain how to care for your cabinets afterward.

Can I still use my kitchen?

Kitchen access will be limited during the project. In our usual five-day schedule, some kitchen use may be possible on the first day. For the remaining days, plan not to use the stove.

Access to the fridge and sink may be possible when work is paused and we have confirmed that entry is appropriate. The kitchen must remain off-limits during spraying and any required ventilation period.

We recommend setting up a temporary food-preparation area outside the work zone. We’ll explain the access plan before your project starts.

Are you insured?

Yes. Tampa Bay Residential Services LLC is insured. Please ask if you would like insurance information before your project begins.

How many coats of primer and paint do you apply?

Our standard cabinet painting process includes two sprayed coats of stain-blocking primer and two sprayed coats of premium Renner cabinet coating, using a compatible two-component hardener system.

The goal is a smooth, consistent, factory-style appearance. Product selection and application follow the requirements of the specific coating system and the condition of your cabinets.

How long do painted cabinets last?

Our goal is a long-lasting finish, not a short-term cosmetic refresh. However, we do not promise a fixed lifespan for every kitchen.

Cabinet condition, preparation, daily use, moisture, cleaning products, and care all affect how the finish holds up. We’ll provide care instructions to help you protect your newly painted cabinets.

Will the paint smell up my home?

Some odor can occur during preparation, spraying, and drying. We use low-VOC coatings, work-area barriers, and ventilation and filtration measures appropriate to the products being applied.

Low-VOC does not mean odor-free or safe to breathe during spraying. Keep people and pets outside the work zone, and follow the access instructions we provide. Please tell us about respiratory conditions or chemical sensitivities before scheduling.

How much does cabinet painting cost?

Pricing depends on the number of doors and drawer fronts, cabinet condition, preparation, repairs, and the surfaces included in the project.

Start with our estimate form. Your cabinet counts and project description help us review the scope and discuss the next steps.

Can my existing cabinets be painted?

We’ll review your cabinet material, existing finish, and condition before recommending a painting process. Please tell us about peeling finishes, loose surface coverings, swelling, or water damage.

Photos are helpful for an initial review, but an on-site assessment may be needed to confirm the preparation and repair requirements.

Do you paint the cabinet frames and interiors too?

Your estimate will identify the surfaces included, such as doors, drawer fronts, cabinet frames, exposed end panels, and trim.

Cabinet interiors, shelves, and drawer boxes are not automatically included. Let us know if you want those areas considered in your estimate.

Can I choose a different color for my island?

Tell us if you want a contrasting island, different upper and lower cabinet colors, or one color throughout the kitchen. We’ll confirm the color selections and any effect on pricing before work begins.

Will the wood grain still be visible?

We’ll discuss your expectations for grain visibility when reviewing the cabinets. A color change and a completely smooth, grain-filled finish are different project scopes.

If you want a grain-filled appearance, mention it when requesting your estimate so we can assess whether that preparation can be included.

Can you repair cabinets or change the handles and knobs?

Please include cabinet repairs and hardware changes in your request. We’ll review the work and identify what can be included in the estimate.

If your new handles use different mounting holes, tell us before painting so any agreed filling and drilling can be planned as part of the preparation.

How should I prepare before work begins?

We’ll provide project-specific preparation instructions. Plan to clear countertops, remove fragile items near the work area, and arrange a temporary food-preparation space.

We’ll also explain which cabinets or drawers need to be emptied and how to keep children and pets away from the work zone.

When can I clean and use my newly painted cabinets?

We’ll provide handling and cleaning instructions based on the exact products used. Follow those instructions rather than assuming the finish is fully cured because it feels dry.

We’ll explain when normal use and cleaning can resume and which cleaners or cleaning methods should be avoided.
